Uncle Bart’s Steak – Venison

2 lbs Venison Steaks
½ stick of butter
1 oz of oil (grape seed oil)
Flour
2 large yellow onions
2 - 14.5 oz cans of Diced Tomatoes
8 oz heavy cream
Black pepper

Cut onions into long 1”+ wide strips and brown onions in butter/oil (add oil as needed) in a 3” deep skillet.

Flour steaks on side, remove onions from skillet and brown steaks – single layer and remove.

When last batch of steaks are done, add back ½ of the onions, remaining steaks, 2 cans of tomatoes, ground fresh black pepper to taste (1-2 tsps).

Simmer 2 hours (add water as needed).

Add back rest of onions, simmer for 20 min.
Add heavy cream, stir in one min. & serve.
